Hola!!
DC is going great. Our investigators are doing well and we are hoping
to see some more progression.
C. is ready for baptism but she needs to get married first. We talked
about Joseph Smith and the restoration and she liked it and believes
it, but she cant get her boyfriend to commit to marriage.
F. is consistently reading the book of mormon, and understands it
really well. We talked about baptism a little bit, but she doesn't
want to commit to anything until she has learned a little more.
C. and E. are husband and wife .They love church and seem to love
learning about the gospel. We have our first appointment with them this
week, we are excited to see how it goes.
This week the young adult center (an old church building turned into a
ysa activity building) hosted a giant bbq and all the missionaries in
dc spent two hours before tracting and street contacting to try and
invite people in the area to come. We found a cute family who came and
loved it, but we had to pass them off to the English missionaries.
Me and my companion got asked if we were nuns this week....
We also crashed a families bbq but they let us share a short message
and said they wanted to learn more so we are going to go back next
week.
Today for pday we played sand volleyball down at the mall and then had a bbq
A Senior Couple took us out to dinner at an African restaurant
.
Thanks for all the support!!!

Hola!!! Como estan?
This week was super fun. We all got to be volunteers at the
National Cherry Blossom parade. I was an usher and helped people find
their seats and get ready for the parade. Other missionaries carried
some of the balloons. It was a really cool experience, and the parade
was really fun.
This week we also did a finding activity at a plaza in Columbia
Heights DC with our district. We had three languages there, English,
Spanish, and Amharic. We were able to hand out copies and teach a lot of
people about the Book of Mormon. We even had some people that
called us back and said they wanted to learn more.
We also started teaching English as a Second Language classes. We are
the head teachers for Thursday nights and it has been really fun. We
have had members and investigators attend.
For our investigators. C. Wants to get baptized, but her boyfriend
doesn't want to get married. She is going to talk to him again this
week, but besides that she is ready for baptism.
F.is progressing really well and she likes and understands the Book
of Mormon. She likes meeting with us and we have really enjoyed
teaching her. We have only met with her twice so far but she is doing
really well.
K. our less active member is doing great. This week he met with the
branch president to get his interview for his patriarchal blessing! We
are so excited for him!
Thanks for everything!
Hasta luego!

Hi from DC! We have had a pretty busy week, but it was great. We
found and met some new investigators and are pretty excited about some
of them! One guy we tracted into was not very happy to see
us, but the rest of the people were very nice.
C. is doing great! We had an amzing lesson with her and her recent
convert son was there too. She is progressing a lot faster now and is
starting to think about baptism. She is ready for baptism but needs to
get married so she is talking to her boyfriend this week. It was a
great lesson.
F. is doing well. She pays really good attention to our lessons and
asks a lot of questions and she seems to understand everything. She
just has a few doubts but we are excited to keep working with her and
helping her learn more. She is a self-referral and started learning
about the church from an old friend.
This transfer we have been looking for a family to teach, and an
member told us about his nephew and his family, they came to church
and seemed to like it. We are excited to keep working with them.
Also this last week I hit my half way mark! So crazy!!
DC has been an awesome area. We have found a few smaller areas of DC
with a lot of Spanish speakers, and they are so nice and inviting. It
has been a great opportunity to get to meet and talk with a bunch of
different people.
We met a new investigator, M. this week, We were in her apartment
building talking to someone in the hall and she comes walking super
fast around the corner balancing a giant box of 36 cans of iced tea on
her head, walking from side to side quickly trying to keep it
balanced. We say hi to her and she opens the door to her apartment and
tells us to come in. So we just walked in after her. We talked to her
and her husband. They said the elders used to come by years ago, but
they are interested in hearing our message again. We set up a return
appointment, they were nice we are excited to go back.
Thanks for everything!

Hey Everyone!!!!
I hope everyone enjoyed conference this week! Its so fun watching
conference on the mission (except when we had to watch a session in
Spanish). It is so great to hear all of the amazing talks! We had the
opportunity to watch it with C. one of our investigators. She usually
is shy and doesn't talk too much, but after conference she talked to us
for a long time telling us how much she loved it and how wonderful it
is. She watched 3 sessions and wants us to come over and watch the
talks she missed with her. It was really awesome, we are excited for
her and she has been able to get work off to come to church the last
few weeks. We are excited for her.
C. is doing well, we were able to meet with her twice, and one time a
member came with us. She is really cute and has only lived here a few
months and has a four year old boy. She loves learning but works every
Sunday so her progression is slow.
F. is really sweet. She is a self-referral. Her neighbor was LDS and
she went to church with her sometimes and now she wants to learn more.
She lives by herself and has grown children, she is really sweet, but
talks a lot, it can be hard to get a word in!
We found about 5 new investigators this week, now we just need to keep
following up and see who is interested and who isn't. We found two
cute families last week and we are hoping that they will work out, we
have been wanting to teach a family!
This week we had our second encounter with our less active's brother.
We have been teaching a sweet less active and she loves relearning
everything, but whenever her brother is over he just wants to fight
with us. Our last lesson he showed up right before we finished and we
got stuck there while he tried to argue with us. Haha it was
interesting.
Thanks for all the support!
